Freelance Motion Designer
We’re looking for a freelance Motion Designer to join our team!
You’ll work primarily with the Art director and Creative Director on the team as well as a producer and other animators to complete high-quality video content. Daily tasks will change as needed, but here are some of the job duties you could expect for this position.
- You might create style frames for a new 2d or 3d project.
- You might help create design frames for an entire video.
- You might take provided designed frames and create animation inside After Effects from them.
- You might also work on a live-action video project that needs some animated elements.
- You might work on a series of short looping animations.
- You might produce a video from concept to final delivery.
- You might provide support to other animators on other projects.
The skills this person MUST have:
- You understand and practice the animation principles DAILY!
- You have great After Effects skills. You’re able to handle complex designs and breathe life into video.
- You have much experience with Cinema 4D and are comfortable learning new tools if needed.
- You’re a pro with both Illustrator and Photoshop.
- You can edit live-action videos or animation projects with great rhythm and expertise.
- You understand how to tell great stories with movement and pacing.
- You consider yourself an organized person with neat files that can be used by other teammates.
- Highly effective communicator. Sure, you spell some words wrong occasionally, but you write and speak efficiently, confidently, and clearly.
- You get shit done! You work with great efficiency to create great work. You’ve heard on occasion, “I can’t believe you did that so fast!” and “wow, this is amazing!”.
- Multi-tasker. You’re a swiss army knife that can use multiple tools simultaneously. You’re also able to balance multiple projects and give clear estimates to project managers on how much time is needed to complete a task.
- Asks a lot of questions. You take the time to fully understand things at the beginning of every project. You’re not afraid to ask “dumb” questions because you know that it makes you more effective. When you don’t know how to do something, you know how to find the answers.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with 2d, 3d, and motion graphics animation. You must completely understand the animation process.
- Can live anywhere in the U.S. but must be able to work in EST.
