Lightspeed – Origin Story
We combined storytelling with innovative design to create a film that really showcases the rich history of Lightspeed.
Lightspeed approached us after seeing another video we made for Rhove. Inspired by the work we did with them, they knew they wanted our help in sharpening their brand by creating new content that not only told their story, but helped them stand out from the crowd. To help us find the direction for this project, we went through our Discovery process so we could sit down with them and see what makes Lightspeed tick.
During that process, we learned that Lightspeed really was different from many of their competitors (emphasizing their “nerdy” personality that was also willing to take the necessary risks to push them and their founders forward). Together, we decided a origin story was the perfect way to highlight these traits and their history, from their early beginnings to today.
We began working on the script and storyboard while we settled on the final Art Direction. Ultimately, we landed on a 2D approach supported by the occasional 3D scene. Lightspeed provided us with a lot of creative leeway and after speaking with them about the impact they wanted to make on their audience, we wrote an ambitious, yet effective script.
But this script also required us to fly through a city and that meant converting some of our 2D designs to a 3D space, animating them, and blending it into the rest of the 2D video. It was a big undertaking, but we loved experimenting with just how to best portray the wide expanse of the city compared to Lightspeed’s humble beginnings in a much smaller building nestled among the skyscrapers.

Rhove – Explainer
Not all great ideas are easy to explain. When Co-founders of Rhove, Calvin Cooper and Jonathan Slemp reached out to us, they were having a big problem being able to quickly tell potential users exactly how Rhove works.

Arcadia – Brand Film
While this one seemed a little intimidating, especially understanding some of the more technical language and aspects of data analysis and healthcare, we were tasked with making Arcadia look like the leather-jacket-wearers of healthcare data.
